A new moon at the end of a retrograde

The Moon overtakes the Sun at 16.8° Scorpio at 07:02 UTC on 9 Nov 2026, not as an eclipse — the conjunction is 81.3° from the nodes. What distinguishes it from the year's other new moons is not the degree but the timing against the station table: Mercury turns direct 4.4 days later, 13 Nov 2026, 15:56 UTC, at 5.0° Scorpio; Venus turns direct 4.7 days later, 14 Nov 2026, 00:28 UTC, at 22.8° Libra. The month in which the inner planets turn

A retrograde reads, in the tradition, as a review; the direct station is the review ending and motion resuming, slowly at first. A new moon is the seed of a month.
