A new moon at a station degree

The Moon overtakes the Sun at 16.9° Aries, 23:51 UTC on 6 Apr 2027, 59.2° from the nodes. Jupiter stations direct on 13 Apr 2027 at 16.9° Leo — 16.9° of Leo against 16.9° of Aries — and a planet 6.1 days from a station has, for practical purposes, stopped: it moves less than a tenth of a degree across the whole week. So at the instant of the new moon Jupiter is at its station degree, and the conjunction is exactly trine to it. The page can print that orb without Jupiter's position at the lunation, because the station table supplies the one longitude that matters.

Fire trine fire, with one side standing still

A trine between the two fire signs is the tradition's easiest angle — Aries's initiative flowing into Leo's expression — and a new moon making it to Jupiter, the tradition's planet of increase, is read as a month seeded with reach. What this page adds is the geometry: the trine is to a planet at rest, so it neither applies nor separates in the usual way; Jupiter holds the degree while the Moon and Sun pass through the aspect, and everything with a natal point at 17° of a fire sign gets the whole configuration at once. That is collective; the degree is the same everywhere. It is also unusual in a way the tables can quantify: a lunation within a degree and a half of an exact aspect to an outer planet's station degree happens a few times a year, and one within a tenth of a degree — as here — is the exception the station table exists to catch.

A natal point near 16.9° of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn takes the new moon as an exact aspect, and a natal point near 17° of any fire sign is inside the trine as well. A natal point at 16.9° Leo has Jupiter stationary on it, which is the slower and rarer of the two events. Which house the new moon seeds comes down to the birth time and place. The sky cannot answer any of those three.
