Transit

Pluto conjunct natal Venus

♇ ☌ ♀ — transiting Pluto on the exact degree of your natal Venus.

Pluto conjunct natal Venus is the period when transiting Pluto sits within 3° of the degree Venus occupied at your birth. It reaches a given degree about once in 245 years and stays inside the 3° envelope a median 192 days — long enough that the tradition treats it as a chapter rather than an occasion.

Without JavaScript, or before the calculator loads, the table below is the answer at Venus-sign resolution. Your own window is a slice of your sign's band: the band is when the contact reaches some degree of your sign, your window is when it reaches yours.

Each window is the contiguous period in which transiting Pluto is within 3° of conjunction to any degree of that sign. Waxing = Pluto ahead of the Venus's degree; waning = behind.

What the contact means

Venus is a placement, not a prediction about anyone

Natal Venus is the tradition's significator of value: what a person is drawn to, what they find beautiful, what they consider worth having, and — as a consequence rather than a definition — how they relate. It is worth separating those, because the popular reading of any Venus transit collapses immediately into relationship forecasting, and that collapse is where the genre stops being able to say anything checkable. What the chart marks is a principle of valuation. What a person does with it is not in the geometry.

Fusion, not aspect

A conjunction is the one configuration with no angular distance in it. The transiting body and the natal point share a degree, and the tradition reads them as merged for the duration — Pluto's principle is not addressing Venus from across the chart, it is operating from Venus's own position. Every other angle leaves the two points distinguishable; this one does not, which is why conjunctions are read as beginnings of cycles rather than as episodes within them.

How long "for the duration" actually is

A median 192 days inside three degrees, a p90 of 1152 days, and a longest observed passage of 1411 — close to four years. Measured over 54 windows on 2020-01-01–2065-01-01, daily lattice. That range is Pluto's orbital eccentricity rather than any property of Venus: near perihelion Pluto covers about three degrees a year and near aphelion barely half of one, so an identical six degrees of orb passage takes several times longer in some parts of the zodiac than others.

Speed is what makes the reading different

It is tempting to treat all Venus contacts as one family, but the transiting body decides almost everything about how a contact behaves. Venus receives a contact from the Moon several times a month and it is gone within hours; the same point receiving Pluto is held for a span that can exceed a presidential term. The tradition's distinction between transits that colour a period and transits that define one is, at bottom, this arithmetic.

Once in a life, or not at all

Consecutive Pluto conjunctions to a fixed degree fall a median 245 years apart, across 95 measured intervals on 1801-01-01–2398-01-01, weekly lattice. Since Pluto only covers thirty to fifty degrees during a normal lifespan, most charts never see this contact and none sees it twice. The cohort table settles whether yours is in range; unlike a Sun sign, a Venus sign does not follow from a birthday, which is why the calculator is worth the click.

Reading a five-crossing passage

Of the 144 decidable contacts in the sample, 51 perfected three times and 93 perfected five. No single-crossing case occurred. That matters for how the window is read: five exact dates across three years is one passage, not five events, and the tradition's use for the intermediate crossings is comparison — the same question returning with more evidence attached each time — rather than repetition.

The boundary this page keeps

Cosmic KPI computes when the contact is in orb, when it perfects, and how concentrated the rest of the sky is meanwhile. It makes no claim about what will happen in anyone's relationships or finances, and no configuration of Pluto and Venus corresponds to a specific outcome. The dates and the arithmetic are what the instrument is for.

How this transit appears in Cosmic KPI

Cosmic KPI scores this contact alongside everything else in the sky rather than in isolation, which is the useful part for a transit this long: a three-year raised floor tells you little on its own, and a great deal once you can see which weeks inside it also carried faster contacts to the same point.

The Cosmic KPI pressure timeline, with a slow outer-planet contact showing as a raised band and its exact hits as peaks.

Common questions

How long does Pluto conjunct Venus last?
A median 192 days within 3°, p10 51 and p90 1152, with the longest observed passage 1411 days. The spread comes from Pluto's eccentric orbit, not from anything about Venus.
How often does Pluto conjunct Venus?
About once in 245 years for a fixed degree, median 245 across 95 measured intervals. Most charts never receive it, because a lifetime covers only a slice of Pluto's circuit.
How many exact hits does Pluto conjunct Venus have?
Three or five — 51 and 93 of 144 decidable contacts respectively. Never one, and never an even number: the crossing count in a single visit is always odd.
How do I know my Venus sign?
A birthday does not give it — Venus can be in any of several signs for a given birth date depending on the year. The calculator on this page computes your natal Venus degree from your birth date and then dates the contact against it; as of 2026-09-14 Pluto is at 3.3° Aquarius.
